The Pink Eruption: Think!

The eruption of Mt. Kelud happened in 13th-14th February this year (2014). Many refugees are forced to leave their home in panic. The eruption first occurred in 22:50, one of my friend immediately send a short message to me saying that the mountain had finally erupted.

Well, in this post i won't talk about how the mountain erupted, or how to carry out an evacuation in order to save ourselves from incoming pyroclastic cloud. No, no. I'm not an expert in that. What I want to write here is how the people handling it.

I'm glad people actually helped each other, truly I am.. The previous eruption of Mt. Merapi and Mt. Sinabung gave our people clue now, especially resident of Mt. Kelud on how to do the right evacuation process. They immediately ran into safer place like village hall, or school, or maybe local masjid and church, anyplace that safe from the eruption. Government handling it well too, military, police, and red cross team were able to evacuate people with help from the community itself.

I also seen people from local organization like HMI, or KAMMI, or local school boy and girl yesterday were raising fund to help each other. What a noble things to do

What I regret is the fact that actually there are people who associate this disaster with recent event. Yep, the Valentine day.

Oh, I can't believe there are actually people who said that the eruption of Mt. Kelud are the punishment from the God for us who celebrate Valentine, whatsoever. I, myself doesn't celebrate the Valentine day itself, first, because it's not a good tradition to celebrate, we just waste our money over trivial matter, second, Valentine usually be used to perform pre-marital sex between couples, in disguise of love. Indeed, that was awful thing to do. And third, well... I don't have girlfriend so I don't celebrate the Valentine. *giggle* Just kidding on that one.

Well, despite the bad things on Valentine, we shouldn't associate this kind of disaster as if it were a punishment from God. God will punish us or reward us depend on our deeds, either mutual or individual deeds, that is for sure. BUT, we CAN'T say either an accident or event is a punishment, or a reward, or maybe just a way from God to remind us of Him. Let say we judge that this eruption is a punishment from Him, well didn't that mean you know more than God Himself?

There are other even do worse, the associate the date and time when the eruption happened and said it was foretold in the Holy Quran. 13-02-14, means on Juz 13, Verse 2, Surat number 14, or whatever the way they do to connect this.

To people who did that, let me remind you. I know that our Holy Quran contain a lot, A LOT, of information that we need to decipher in order to know what does this verse mean and so on. But I'm sure that to connect the verse number and Surat number with dates is NOT one of the way to decipher Holy Quran. Afterall our Holy Quran is a one big code book with trillion of information kept there.

I laughed my ass off knowing that there are people who use verse number and Surat number to connect it with the time and date of the eruption. Really. Bro, let me tell ya, this is a Holy Quran we talked about, so PLEASE, don't decipher it that way. We don't talk about Primbon here. Truly, they treat Holy Quran as if it were Primbon Books. That really pissed me off in one side, and in other side I felt sorry for them. Well, red your Quran right, decipher it right, and I'm sure we'll get tons of information from it.

Our pray and help for the refugees of Mt. Kelud eruption. May God The Almighty give them patient and strength to survive this and May God The Merciful give them a better replacement. Amen.
